Recently Faulkner County Judge Jim Baker, Van Buren County Judge Roger Hooper and Damascus Mayor L.B. Pavatt created a partnership on a road project that is on the Faulkner and Van Buren county line. Scratch Gravel Road, located in Damascus, is 2 ½ miles and has been in need of paving for several years. The project in cooperation with all parties cost $225,000 and took 3 weeks to complete. Faulkner County Road Foreman, Mark Ledbetter said the road will soon be striped and fitted with speed limit signs. Judge Baker believes that these types of projects could not occur without these types of partnerships with joining counties. These types of partnerships are beneficial to serve the citizens of both counties and will continue for years to come.
