Karl Byrd, Faulkner County Sheriff
Karl Byrd began his law enforcement career in 1977. He worked for the State Police in the Criminal Investigations Division. In 1989 he transferred to the Highway Patrol Division.
In 1996 he transferred to the Training Section where he trained Troopers. 1998-2000 he served in Administration Services were he was administration assistant in Highway Patrol, Crimes against Children and Special Operations. In 2000 Karl transferred to the Criminal Investigations Division.
Karl was elected Sheriff of Faulkner County in November of 2006. Karl assumed that command on January 1, 2007.
